Your Homeowner Orientation Tour, or “HOOT,” is the last stop in your home-buying journey before moving in. Our superintendent will walk you through the house using our quality assurance checklist and ensure you know how to use all the components of your new home, such as the water heater, furnace, utility shutoffs, fireplace, etc. Your home closing will occur 4-5 business days after the HOOT.
Please note: If you plan on having a professional home inspection, it must be performed by a licensed and bonded home inspector. Per Addendum A of your real estate agreement, the report must be delivered to MonteVista 24 hours before the Hoot meeting.
Our goal is to ensure you are ultimately satisfied with your new homes and experience with MonteVista. We want you to feel comfortable with the details of your new home and know who to contact in case of an issue. Once you have moved in, please use our Warranty Portal to schedule any maintenance calls within your one-year limited warranty.
We recommend that you give yourself a couple week padding when scheduling moving trucks and giving notice at your current residence. On rare occasions, unexpected delays with city inspections, utility companies and finish suppliers have occurred. Please click the utility contacts below for information regarding setting up utilities in your new home.
